The Kharlie ’26

Quick and easy, strong and tasty

I invented this variation on April 2, 2026 (hence the name). I use an espresso maker for the coffee, but I just warm the milk in the microwave so it’s quick and easy. It’s closer to a latte than anything else, but there is little or no foam.

Ingredients for one serving (about 15 fl. oz. or 450 ml):

Water and coffee for 2.5 or 3 shots of espresso (to taste)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp each nutmeg and cardamom
240 ml (8 fl. oz.) milk
75 ml (2-1/2 Tbsp.) sugar or equivalent sweetener
15 ml (1 Tbsp.) Hershey's Special Dark chocolate syrup

Directions:

Combine coffee and spices, then brew as normal. Warm the milk in the microwave for 50 to 60 seconds so it’s hot but not scalding. Add the coffee, sugar, and chocolate syrup and enjoy!
