using stovetop espresso maker and manual frother
6-cup stovetop espresso maker (also called a moka pot)
Manual milk frother
Two 16 oz. (475 ml) coffee mugs
Water to brew the coffee
Ground espresso or dark roast coffee for 6 cups (50 ml each)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
For each serving:
2/3 cup (160 ml) milk
1 tablespoon Hershey’s Special Dark chocolate syrup
2 tablespoons sugar
Fill pot with water as indicated for normal use. Put filter in place.
Place most of the coffee in the filter, then carefully stir in the spices, then add the rest of the coffee. Secure top in place, then place on heated stovetop to brew. When brewing is finished, divide coffee into the mugs.
Heat milk between 60 and 68°C (140 to 154°F), then use manual frother to froth it, then put it into the mugs. I use a microwave, 40 seconds for each serving; microwaves vary, so experiment as needed. You want the milk warm but not scalding.
Now add the sugar and chocolate syrup. Stir a bit to combine, then enjoy!
