I’m not sure exactly when I wrote this song; I think it was sometime around 1990. But the middle stanza is newer; I wrote it in March of 2023.

And here lately I’ve been thinking much more of you
We spent the first few years
just stumbling in the darkness
Until we came around to see things clear
We had to learn to face each day without fear
And major on the love that God has given us, my dear

Darling, I love you
And it’s obvious, my sweetheart,
that you love me too
It makes me warm inside
when you kiss me in the morning
Or ask me what’s for dinner every night
The highlight of my day
is spending time with you
On days that I miss out on that,
It leaves me feeling blue

And I’m happy through and through inside because of you
And Honey, I can hardly wait until tomorrow
To lay aside the sorrow and begin a brand new day
with you
