Please forgive me for being late with this issue… it has been a crazy few weeks; you can probably identify with that.
I finally got a chance to play at the open mic this week (read full write-up below) and had a great time. I hope to do more playing soon, and some recording as well. Meanwhile, enjoy this original song, “Autumn Breeze,” and if you haven’t already done so, visit and “like” my Facebook page.
Kat plays at the Cultural Arts Center in Whitewater, WI, on June 23, 2016.
Katarina (Kat) Farnsworth is an acoustic folk-rock singer-songwriter currently living in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She started in Janesville, performing at the open mics at Mocha Moment (see article below) and then using her vocal and songwriting skills with the band Pancake Riot from 2013 onward; she also played guitar and bass for that band. In 2015 she started a side project called Kat and the Hurricane. With the help of Danial Monson-Bergum at The Outpost in Janesville, she recorded the songs “Rope Burn” and “Swimming for My Life” during the fall of 2015. She played a string of shows this past spring and summer. Things went understandably quiet during her recent move, but Kat plans to get busy with her music again soon.
Find Kat’s recordings at her Bandcamp page and be sure to like her Facebook page as well.
Mocha Moment, a coffee shop in Janesville, WI, has an open mic on the first and third Wednesday nights of each month. Ken Wagman does a fabulous job hosting the show. Last night’s was particularly good, as three new performers were present as well as two more who aren’t able to appear often. Here is a rundown of the show (song lists are not all complete).
