Kharlie’s new album, Come On, Kharlie M, just went up on Spotify this morning! It has been distributed to several other stores and may show up on them shortly.
After a brief break, production will begin on two more albums: Umm… It’s Me and The Child in You. One or both will release later this year.
I (Kharlie M) will be playing a show in Madison, at Art In (1444 E Washington Ave), on Thursday, August 23. The show begins at 7:00 pm; I will play from 9:20 to 9:55. The featured act is Alluvion from Minneapolis. Kat and the Hurricane will open the show at 7:00. After Kharlie M, three more acts will play: Fear of Moose, Beau Osland, and The Iridescent Ensemble.
Candace Griffin was the Friday Local Feature at Voigt Music on August 10. She performed with a full band, including Kat Farnsworth on bass, Ben Coakley on keyboard, Robert Allen on lead guitar, and Ryan Thomas on drums (Kat and Ben make up the band Kat and the Hurricane). Vicky Kolego and Mackenzie Benish (who make up the band Prone to Sorrow) lent their “angelic” voices to a few songs as well. The show was well attended.
Topping off the show was the release of Candace’s new album, Misadventures. The 40-minute album includes eight original songs and sells for $10.00.
Kat and the Hurricane appeared on Jess the Ska Kid, a video blogger and live music venue in Kenosha, WI, on August 16; the videos are available at her Facebook page (link above). This band is currently very busy; get their latest schedule at their Facebook page.
Elmer and the Ceramic Trees appeared on Jess the Ska Kid on July 26.
Rock on the Rock, a music festival, was held at Riverside Park in Beloit, WI, on the weekend of August 4 and 5. Included in the lineup were Elmer and the Ceramic Trees, Candace Griffin, Kat and the Hurricane, Prone to Sorrow, and more.
