March 15 was the last night for Ken Wagman to host the Open Mic at Mocha Moment. This made for a spectacular show, with 13 performers and 29 songs squeezed into 2 hours and 17 minutes.

Performers included Katrina, who did originals with a keyboard, even adding a backing track for one song; Kharlie M with a soprano ukulele; Jennifer Ruse; Robbie Haas; David Lawrence; Jesse Ramirez; Mackenzie Benish and Victoria Pearl, who make up the duo Prone to Sorrow; Mark, a newer performer who did one song; Rob Allen; Candace Griffin, who flew up from Tennessee; Kat Farnsworth; and of course, Ken Wagman, who played accompaniment for other performers. There was a cajon and some shakers for added percussion.

Toward the end of the show, Ken was presented with some gifts as tokens of appreciation for hosting the open mic for over five years. Later, Ken made his final post to the Facebook page:

The new host comes with an interesting name and plenty of enthusiasm:

The next chapter remains to be written. As for me, I’m optimistic.
